Protecting the Ocean

Helping Save our Oceans

This year’s UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon is another reminder of the importance of understanding and preserving our oceans. Algae and Microalgae produce around 70% of oxygen in the atmosphere and are the basis of the aquatic food chain, playing a key role in the environmental health of oceans, rivers and freshwaters, all fundamental to the health of the planet. Great research work is being done at the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere.

Thanks for having us again Dr. Lia Godinho, and for letting us sneak peek this amazing organisms.
