GLOVE-PORTS IN TESTA CHAMBERS
Handling your samples without opening the door? With our glove port equipped TESTA chambers, that’s exactly what you can do! Saving time on recovery periods is critical for some tests. And maintaining a stable testing environment while interacting with your samples becomes a reality. Efficient, effective, and designed with your testing needs in mind.
NEW POSSIBILITIES FOR PLANT RESEARCH

Tall plants? Very high light intensity? Multi-tier? Why not?! We just finished a set of bespoke FitoClima walk-in growth chambers that bring high light intensity to new heights! This chamber sports 6 growth modules, each with 2 tiers of shelves, each with 1 sqm (10,7 sqft) of growth area, and offering close to 1.000 µmol/m2/s at 1m (3,28 ft). Lighting the way for new plant research possibilities!
ROOF TILES: R&D AND QC
Behind every roof tile that withstands years of harsh weather, there’s intensive testing and innovation. Excited to spotlight our recent visit to BMI Portugal, a leading producer of roof tiles and roofing sysems! They have decades of experience and their ambition is clear: to create the best roof tile in the market. Providing shelter, protection, and tranquillity through their products, they work tirelessly to improve how people live and work. At Aralab, we are proud to support their R&D and Quality control processes with our freeze-thaw chamber. The chamber aids them in their day-to-day operations, ensuring their products meet the EN539-2 standard for frost resistance of clay roofing tiles and fittings with continuous Frost-Defrost cycles.
UNVEILING THE TESTA 2.000!

The next addition to Aralab’s line-up of environmental testing chambers. Designed with precision and efficiency in mind, it boasts a spacious internal volume of 2000 liters. With its wide temperature range of -60°C to +180°C, a humidity range of 10% to 98%, and rapid cooling and heating rates, it is ready to tackle the most demanding testing scenarios. Strong shelves with telescopic guides can support up to 250kg each, offering impressive resistance and durability. Safety isn’t compromised either, thanks to the electronic security lock preventing door opening during operation. Unique to this specific model are the custom-designed entry ports, made to accommodate numerous cables and sensors required by our customer for complex lithium battery testing in the automotive industry. The TESTA 2.000 showcases Aralab’s commitment to reliability, performance, and high quality standards. We’re thrilled to add this innovative chamber to our product range!
MECHANISMS OF RESISTANCE TO PINE WILT DISEASE

Inside Aralab’s environmental growth chambers, the dedicated BioISI – Biosystems & Integrative Sciences Institute research team at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL) is working to comprehend the mechanisms of resistance against Pine Wilt Disease. The disease, caused by Pine Wood Nematode (PWN), poses a severe threat to conifer forests in Eastern Asia and the Iberian Peninsula. Through high-throughput genotyping techniques and targeted gene identification, FCUL is illuminating our understanding of resistant and susceptible genotypes, potentially steering us towards a future where our forests stand resilient against PWN. We’re immensely proud to have our Aralab chambers playing a role in this ground-breaking study.
RIGOROUS TESTING OF PCBS AND FINAL PRODUCTS

DURABILITY AND BIOLOGICAL SUSCEPTIBILITY OF WOOD AND DERIVATIVES

Ever wondered why your hardwood floors can stand the test of time and the onslaught of termites? Today, we had the honor of stepping into the realm of LNEC – Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil, I.P. – Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil, Portugal’s esteemed public institute for Science and Technology. In their UPB Lab (Prevention of Biodeterioration Laboratory), they undertake rigorous research into the biological durability and susceptibility of bio-based materials, particularly wood and wood-based products. Our guide in this first journey, Drª. Marta Duarte showed us two of our walk-in chambers at work at UPB! These chambers were setting the environmental conditions necessary for critical tests like the CEN/TS 15083-1 (2005) and EN117 (2013). These tests are key to understanding how wood materials will resist over time and against natural enemies such as wood-destroying fungi and termites. A hearty thanks to the amazing Drª Marta Duarte and the Lab Coordinator Drª Lina Nunes for giving us a peek into this fascinating world of real-life testing applications for our chambers. Your work beautifully showcases the vast potential of Aralab’s contribution to diverse research fields.
BEHIND THE SCENES OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

Peeking behind the scenes of Civil Engineering magic. This journey takes us to the ESTBarreiro where Aralab chambers are playing a critical role. Inside the Civil Engineering Lab, our chambers assist in key environmental testing tasks: accelerating the curing process of mortars and concrete, testing for corrosion, and measuring the resistivity of concrete samples. Seeing our chambers contribute to such essential research is a testament to their versatility and broad applications across industries.
